Lance started singing barbershop at the age of 13 after attending a show with his father and receiving an invitation from a friend.

Soon after he recruited friends to form a quartet called 4th Avenue which endured in various configurations for several years and included his brother. He became the assistant director of a chorus in southern Idaho at the age of 17 and the director at age of 26 when his chorus received the “most improved” award.

He formed a barbershop group of 13 high school and college-aged guys known as “The Testostertones” in 2012, and in 2013 won the Barbershop Harmony Society's Harold Hill award for having recruited over 20 singers to the society.

He moved to Spokane 5 years ago and began directing the Pages of Harmony in June of 2018. He is currently singing lead in two quartets, Blue Jeans and VOX IV
